Customer Feedback:
“Working with the Connective team has been a breath of fresh air.” — CEO, Healthcare Supply Chain Startup
“Connective took the time to truly understand our business and its unique needs. From there, they carefully aligned the right talent and skill sets to build a scalable, adaptable solution fit for the complex and constantly evolving healthcare space. I only wish I had found them sooner.” — CEO, Healthcare Supply Chain Startup
Overview
A healthcare supply chain startup sought a trusted technology partner to rescue and rebuild its core market-facing application—a workflow optimization and PAR management tool intended to streamline operational processes across healthcare delivery networks. After years of stalled development with a previous vendor, escalating platform costs, and no viable path to launch, the company turned to our team to redesign and engineer a scalable version of the product that could successfully reach market.
The Challenge:
The client had previously invested heavily with an outsourced development firm that attempted to build the entire product in a large, waterfall-style effort using PowerApps and PowerBI. Despite more than two years of work:
The platform became fragile, costly to maintain, and non-scalable
Development velocity stalled with no realistic path to a market-ready release
Pre-market infrastructure and licensing costs were rapidly consuming startup resources
The underlying architecture was not suitable for a SaaS business model
Leadership feared the business would not survive unless a sustainable solution was built quickly
The team needed an urgent pivot—from an overbuilt, brittle prototype to a streamlined, extensible application capable of delivering value immediately while setting the foundation for future growth.
The Vision:
A partner organization provided a new architectural blueprint designed to:
Support a services-driven launch strategy
Enable agile, iterative delivery of customer value
Establish a scalable foundation ready to support a future SaaS business model
Reduce ongoing maintenance costs and technical risk
Accelerate the timeline to market to ensure the company’s viability
Our team was selected as the agile development partner to translate this vision into a functional, modernized 2.0 application.
Our Approach:
We partnered closely with the client and architectural stakeholders to execute a pragmatic, value-first rebuild:
Product Strategy & Prioritization:
Refined and sequenced the feature set for rapid time-to-value
Focused initial releases on workflows that delivered immediate operational impact
Established shared product goals, KPIs, and feedback loops with end users
Agile Development Execution:
Built the core PAR management application on a modern, scalable stack (React Native, PostgreSQL, Azure)
Delivered incremental, testable functionality through an agile delivery model
Introduced engineering best practices enabling sustainable long-term growth
Collaborated with client operations experts to align functionality with real-world healthcare workflows
Scalable Architecture Implementation:
Implemented a future-proofed architecture supporting elasticity, data flexibility, and analytics readiness
Integrated Elasticsearch for high-performance search and workflow insights
Ensured the rebuilt platform could evolve into a full SaaS product with minimal rework
The Results:
By engaging our team, the client rapidly transformed a failing, unsustainable product effort into a viable, scalable application ready for market launch.
Business Outcomes:
Transitioned from a stalled, high-cost prototype to a production-ready 2.0 application
Preserved the company’s ability to enter the market and maintain business continuity
Positioned the organization for future SaaS expansion and new revenue opportunities
Technical & Product Outcomes:
Rebuilt the application on a modern, extensible architecture
Dramatically reduced maintenance overhead and licensing costs
Achieved predictable delivery velocity through agile methodology
Improved system reliability, scalability, and long-term viability
Organizational Outcomes:
Strengthened stakeholder confidence through transparent, iterative progress
Established a product strategy foundation for evolving feature sets
Enabled faster customer feedback cycles and future roadmap adaptability
